This 100% phonics-based video lesson teaches the long and short sounds of the vowel A and 2 important vowel rules that assist with decoding words. The video is about 30 minutes long and reviews the voiced and unvoiced consonant sounds. It also introduces the student to pictures cards or “keyword cards” associated with each sound. Next, Miss Jody goes step-by-step through the lesson worksheet which can be printed (.pdf). The student works through the worksheet learning coding structure, vowel patterns, and identifying letter clusters. In addition, a 6 to 7 page Phonics Story Packet is also included in a .pdf form that can be printed out. This packet is intended to reinforce the lesson and previously learned material.

All the lessons are progressive learning, meaning each lesson builds upon each other and are meant to be viewed and learned in order for the best outcome. As lessons progress students learn vowel sounds, digraphs, trigraphs, quadrigraphs, diphthongs, combinations, final stable syllables, 30 easy-to-learn spelling rules, affixes and their meanings, vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, and fluency. These video classes are excellent for students in the 2nd grade-adult.

The videos are priced to be comprehensive, competitive, and still be about the same length as a typical one-hour tutoring session. These 100% phonics-based classes are excellent for homeschoolers or students needing sensible reading instruction that works. You won’t find it anywhere else!

Has your interest been peaked? You can watch a few to see what you think. There’s no obligation. All you have to do is email Miss Jody, submit a $20 payment, and she will email you a link to watch the lesson along with the printable worksheet and other learning material.
